Sports Management Intern

Summary:

Intern will be under the direct supervision of the Field Operations Manager and Field Operations Assistant. Intern will work approximately 20-30 hours per week.

 

  • Gain broad exposure and real life experience across multiple aspects of the company.
  • Learn to create league schedules and playoff brackets.
  • Learn to maintain a schedule for 40-50 field staff members; assist with management of field staff.
  • Train on creating score sheets for league games and monitoring scores on websites.
  • Learn to run field operations on site on opening night (i.e. give intro speech, take team photos, deliver equipment to field staff, etc).
  • Learn to maintain an active upcoming league and event schedule; assist with ensuring players are receiving appropriate marketing materials for upcoming activities.
  • Train on Customer Service; learn to handle emails and phone calls from players to address difficult questions, concerns, and complaints.
  • Train on sending surveys; learn to analyze and utilize the data received to create solutions to complaints.
  • Complete two major projects (both related to sport expansion, may be adjusted depending on candidate interests).
  • Gain experience working on large scale events and the logistics that go into making it happen.
  • Recommend enhancements and solutions to the problems we face as a company.

 

Qualifications:

Seeking an undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in a Sports Management or Recreational program (open to other degrees if interested in pursuing a sports related career). Intern must have a phone or device that can take pictures and connect to the internet. Intern must have their own transportation. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds. Ideally, the intern would be over 21 years of age due to the nature of our alcohol sponsorships and game day happy hours at sponsor bars.
