39 Runs Sends Message to League Teams
Frank's L'il Sluggers made me very proud on Monday night with an outstanding performance of hitting, defense and balls to the wall base running. This was definitely a statement game to let the rest of the league teams know that they are back and are very hungry for a title. They are off to a 2-0 start and looking very strong, determined and ready to take on all comers. Great win!

Noah Banning's Pitching Helps Expos Bounce Back

After losing their first game of a double header and only scoring 9 runs, The Edelman Expos: led by their pitcher Noah won the second game in a convincing fashion. The Expos scored over 30 runs in their second game and Noah spearheaded both the Offense and Defense. Noah threw a Complete Game with only 19 Earned Runs, a truly amazing outing that deserves the Player of the Week.

Hit 'EM With The D
Hit 'Em With The D never had the lead against Soft Balls, Hard Bats the entire game, until the sixth inning. Jamal Robertson hit a go ahead three run home run in the bottom of the sixth while his team was down by 2 runs. This blast from Jamal was 'due', in both games of his double header Jamal hit hard line drives directly to outfielders, losing out on several hits. Karma finally tipped towards Jamal's side in the nick of time.

Two Balls and One Strike
Becca was a stud on the diamond despite being hampered by a nagging quad injury. She went an amazing 4 for 4 in the first game with a 2-run triple in the first game. She also battled to play some solid outfield before moving to 2nd base and holding down the right side of the infield. Although Two Balls and One Strike lost the first game, Becca and her team turned it around in the second game. Becca reached base all but once and knocked in a few runs to help lead her team to 26 runs in the win.

Two Balls and One Strike
Winning 17-10 Two Balls and One Strike orchestrated a win with great team effort. Every player contributed to the win, but one player stands out because of a single play. Mark made a Web Gem playing third base, catching a line drive soaring several feet above his head. The force of the ball arched his back so far he could have performed a bicycle kick as well. This stunning feat earns him Player of the Week.

Joe Gustav had a highlight reel type game for Soft Balls, Hard Bats. Going 5/5 with 2 HR Joe led his team on offense, he led his team so well that he took the whole game off on defense. As a challenge to the opposing team, Joe floundered and dropped several fly balls, obviously on purpose with the aim to intimidate the other team. It worked with resounding success.

Frank's L'il Sluggers
Both games of Frank's Lil Sluggers double header were fiercely competitive. The highlight of the night occurred in the first game with Lexi Yurovchak crushing a ball to deep right field. With jaguar-like grace and dexterity Lexi touched all the bases with a three run Home run helping her team to secure a win they desperately needed before playoffs. This win and Home run mean even more after their second game ended up in a tie.
Taking a page out of Bob Marley's book, Soft Balls, Hard Bats played their own redemption song last night in the first round of playoffs. Earlier in the season Soft Balls took a hard loss to Hit 'EM With The D, losing in the bottom of the seventh on a walk off three run home run. Soft Balls played excellent on offense putting up 23 runs in the first three innings. Their defense sealed the deal only giving up nine runs with a slough web-gem's in the outfield.
